What are your goals?

What do you want out of screenwriting?

I believe that everyone has their own set of goals when it comes to screenwriting. Some people just do it for fun, some want to just write for TV shows, some want to write for movies, etc.

I would like to write a screenplay(s), then get cast within one of my own movies. That would be a dream come true. I have always liked film. The whole process of making one. From start to finish.

That are just my hopes and aspirations; what are yours?

When I was in the 7th grade my dream was to (I wrote/write lyrics) have someone take my words and create an mp3 with their additional music/vocals singing MY song.  When it happened the feeling was overwhelming but as it started happening more and more I was transitioning from lyrics to screenwriting and my goal evolved into having people act out the things I write... to SAY the lines of dialogue I create.... and to capture it on film rather than an mp3 ;)

That is quite a goal  :)

You started out writing songs? Do you continue that?

I think my goal is to actually accomplish something. I have a very boring life, as in I don't have any interests in sports or any interests that can be displayed to people (unless people would like to watch me read?). My love of reading ultimately lead to me wanting to write a book. I found that writing novels took way too long, so I thought maybe writing a script would be quicker (I'm lazy and impatient) and I finished my first script in 3 weeks! It need A LOT of work, but it's done!!

Understandable. 3 weeks is actually pretty good. At least you got it done, everyone needs to end up editing it. I am no different, I spent more time editing than writing.

My goals are just to become better at the craft. I don't necessarily have concrete goals except to get better and better. At least that's my plan for now.
